I know it’s not pleasant thinking about your own funeral. Who wants to think about death and dying? I didn’t mean to start thinking about mine either. But I was impressed by how my late Father had preplanned his funeral and how it took such a load off his family at a difficult time. And I’ve been watching my Mother plan her final resting place this year. I began to realize that I should be thinking about my own final resting place and decide how I want to be interred when I die so my husband and sons don’t have to make that decision. I started looking around for alternatives to a traditional casket burial. I didn’t know there were so many options. I can have a sea burial or a space burial. I can have my cremated remains made into a diamond or after cremation I can be converted to a sort of “potting soil” and shoveled around my favorite tree or shrub. And there are many options for a green funeral. I was so impressed by the variety of “final resting place” choices that I decided to share the information. Please have a look around and stay awhile. Don’t forget the “coffin and urn” area. You’ll be as amazed as I was. I’d like to hear about any interesting or unusual funerals you’ve attended. Please leave a comment on my blog site.
